Big changes are on the horizon for inZOI. Director Hyungjun “Kjun” Kim penned a heartfelt letter to players on May 9, teasing upcoming updates coming in May and August 2025 that promise fresh features, meaningful gameplay improvements, and more about the game's use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

You can read the letter on inZOI’s Steam page or the official website.

GAME IMPROVEMENTS

With inZOI being a little over a month old, Kjun explains that the team has reviewed various issues in the game.

“Our team has spent the past month carefully reviewing and addressing frequently reported issues, including build stability, awkward emotional expressions, and a lack of depth in the Karma system,” according to the post.

He also mentions the arrival of the mod kit in May 2025, which will allow basic modding of the game for anyone interested in creating their own content.

Kjun states they’ve made improvements to the Karma system, a system that determines overall Zoi behavior and unlocks special interactions depending on whether a Zoi has good or bad karma.

The game currently has a basic crime system, and players can experience jail. However, Kjun says more enhancements are on the way.

“To address the lack of meaningful consequences, we're currently planning new crime-related content that allows Zois to be caught and go to jail, spawning additional events as a result. Our goal is to create deeper gameplay experiences where Karma-based interactions lead to logical, connected outcomes.”

NEW WORLD

Players who bought the game or watched early access content from creators may have noticed there were three worlds to choose from, but only Bliss Bay and Dowon were available to live in.

Kjun confirms that the third world is in development, though it comes with challenges.

“With a third city coming to the game, we're also exploring new challenges. We've recognized the community's desire for more gameplay depth, and we will work toward offering content with the potential for richer storytelling and more engaging experiences.”

NEW FEATURES

inZOI is considered an early access game, meaning players can play it now while receiving periodic updates that include system fixes and new features.

The upcoming world will introduce new forms of transportation and additional updates.

“To match the vibe of the new city, we will be introducing smaller vehicles, such as motorcycles, along with highly requested vehicle personalization features,” Kjun states.

“Since these will build upon our existing vehicle systems, some animations may seem slightly awkward at first. However, we believe this will allow players to experience the thrill of weaving through the city on a smaller ride, enhancing both storytelling and atmosphere.”

Currently, inZOI features a basic vehicle system that allows players to travel between key locations in the city, but with limited control and minimal customization. Cars exist more as functional transport than interactive gameplay elements.

The addition of motorcycles and vehicle personalization marks the first step toward expanding how players move through and express themselves within the game world.

Artificial Intelligence

AI has become a major topic in recent years, particularly in the realm of generative art. inZOI launched with its own generative AI system, allowing players to create custom textures that can be applied to furniture, clothing, and walls.

Much of the conversation has centered on how the system learns and where it pulls its resources from.

KRAFTON hasn’t been shy about its use of AI, it even has a dedicated page on its official website outlining its AI initiatives.

inZOI addressed its AI use prior to the game’s 2024 launch.

“All AI features within inZOI utilize proprietary models developed by KRAFTON and are trained using solely company-owned and copyright issue-free assets and data.”

Still, discussion around inZOI’s AI features has continued to grow post-launch.

Kjun acknowledges this in his letter.

“We've noticed growing interest and discussion within our community surrounding inZOI's use of AI. We will be addressing this topic in a separate announcement, and will continue to prioritize transparency and trust to allow players to continue enjoying inZOI.”
